Enhancing biodiversity hotspots along western Queensland stock routes

South West NRM’s Enhancing Biodiversity Hotspots Along Western Queensland Stock Routes project was delivered in partnership with Queensland Government, Desert Channels Queensland, Southern Gulf Catchments, and Queensland Murray-Darling Committee.

More than 80,000km of stock routes were covered to record 132 locations, 47 biodiversity hotspots, 5 High Nature Conservation Value sites and 1 High Geographical Value site. Some of the exciting findings were colonies of Bilbies, flocks of Major Mitchell Cockatoos and Yakka skink populations.
