Baseline surveys for Bruny

Collecting data to track changes following cultural burning

As part of the Biodiverse Bruny project, NRM South and South East Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation have conducted baseline flora and fauna surveys on Aboriginal owned and managed Murrayfield. The data collected will be used to track changes following cultural burning planned for later in the season. The team also established photo-points and set up camera traps to monitor for changes to quoll, cat and deer activity post burning.

Funded under the Australian Government’s National Heritage Trust, the project seeks to protect threatened species, ecological communities and Indigenous culture and connection with Country.
