The 54 regional NRM organisations cover the entire Australian continent, coastal and marine areas. Many have been in existence since the mid-1990s established through statutory and non-statutory means.
They provide regional NRM planning, information, networks and delivery across Australia with the objective of creating a sustainable future for Australia’s environment for current and future generations.
Recognised by the Federal Government as regional delivery partners under the Natural Heritage Trust, government funding for natural resource management and nature repair can be delivered quickly, easily and expertly wherever it is needed.
Regional NRM organisations have strong governance with independent boards who reflect the interests and needs of their region and community. Our network of CEOs are highly experienced and innovative leaders. Regional NRM staff typically hold science degrees and are skilled in extension, communication, and project delivery.
