OceanWatch Australia works on a broad range of projects to improve environmental practices, protect marine species, reduce by-catch, introduce sustainable technologies, change behaviours and restore marine habitats. OceanWatch’s Marine NRM plan has been developed in collaboration with Australia’s key marine stakeholders to prioritise values and guide program delivery.
OceanWatch Australia is the only marine-focused natural resource management organisation. With a diverse range of stakeholders and relationships spanning over 30 years, we believe the specialist knowledge of the seafood industry and saltwater community is vital to Marine NRM planning, decisions and activities. This wealth of information is critical to support environmental program success. We will increase the capacity of our stakeholders to mitigate and adapt to climate change, and encourage saltwater community and seafood industry leadership in projects so that our work will leave a lasting legacy.
We seek an Australian marine environment that is healthy, productive, valued and used in a responsible way.
