The Wandhala drone project: redefining aerial excellence

  • Context: Regional

The Wandhala (Eagle) Drone Project has been an important step in supporting First National businesses to explore how drone technology can be used for land management, cultural heritage monitoring and small business ventures.

The project has supported approximately 40 participants to undertake digital drone training and business skills development and has helped build digital capability within First Nations businesses, organisations and communities. Such capability can be leveraged for employment and economic development opportunities and used to deliver cultural and environmental monitoring and assessment services within the renewable energy supply chain. The training also improves individual employment opportunities for application in agriculture, land management and conservation, and other industries that require drone technology.
