Environmental restoration works at Rob Roy Nature Reserve have now been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone for woodland connectivity and habitat improvement across the reserve.
Delivered under ACT Natural Resource Management’s (NRM) Restoring Grasslands and Woodlands initiative, the project represents six months of coordinated effort by contractors and ACT NRM staff. Across 20 hectares, more than 1,500 native plants were established, and a similar area of woody weeds was controlled to support long‑term ecosystem recovery.
The project benefited from the strong contributions of multiple delivery partners, including the First Nations Conservation Training Program and contractors Environmental Restoration and Design Planning, with valuable support from ACT Parks and Conservation Service as land manager.
The project forms part of ongoing work to restore priority ecological communities throughout the ACT. Newly established plantings will be maintained over the next 12 months to ensure successful establishment and continued improvement of habitat condition at Rob Roy.
Funded through the Australian Government’s Regional Delivery Partners program.
