Repairing landscapes for a healthier reef

  • Context: Regional

FBA is working across priority catchments to repair eroding gullies, restore damaged streambanks and support better groundcover through practical grazing land management. Since 2019, FBA has completed 10 large-scale streambank restoration projects across the Fitzroy region, helping stabilise almost five kilometres of riverbank and preventing thousands of tonnes of fine sediment from flowing towards the Great Barrier Reef Lagoon each year. By combining on-ground restoration with local knowledge, technical expertise and long-term care, FBA is helping build stronger, healthier landscapes and waterways that are more resilient into the future.
