The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board works with First Nations people and groups across the region to increase participation in landscape management, protect cultural values, and strengthen the cultural competency of the landscape board, its staff, and partners. Several longer-term partnership projects have been established with First Nations groups to protect and restore priority environmental and cultural values, provide training and employment opportunities, build relationships, and increase the community’s access to Country.
The projects cover Indigenous ranger and junior ranger programs, cultural values assessments and monitoring, threatened species conservation, water planning and management, wetland and floodplain management, and pest plant and animal control.
This project is funded by the Murraylands and Riverlands Landscape Board.
