In late 2024, ACT NRM launched the First Nations Conservation Training Program – a key component of their new project to restore threatened grassland and woodland ecological communities.
The Australian Government funded program employs four Ngunnawal people, ACT region’s Traditional Custodians, who have begun work on weed management in Rob Roy Nature Reserve. The rangers will also undertake revegetation to enhance habitat for honey eater migration and dunnart and antechinus populations.
