Six Season walk extends Indigenous ecological understanding

Exploring the yearly cycle of travel and resource collection from the coastline to the hills

Perth NRM is partnering with six local government councils to deliver the Six Season Indigenous-led walks program that takes participants around metropolitan Perth on a journey through Noongar culture, ecological knowledge, language and native animals and plants.

The walks led by an Elder or Traditional Knowledge holder explore the yearly cycle of travel and resource collection from the coastline to the hills

The City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett said “One of the best ways to help our community learn about local First Nations culture is to extend an invitation for them to learn about ancient stories and customs from local Elders and Custodians on Country and experience it for themselves.”
