Reef Catchments Limited (RCL) has adopted a strategic, landscape-scale approach to NRM in the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region, combining whole-of-system thinking with long-term planning and targeted investment. Multiple streambank studies—including Alluvium’s assessments (2017, 2019, 2024) and Neilly Group’s erosion study (2023)—have identified key remediation needs. These insights have supported the delivery of several major projects, including Reef Trust 4 & 7, Reef Assist 2.0, and the Landscape Repair Program, driving effective, large-scale environmental outcomes. The legacy of this approach lies in transforming ideas into actionable projects, which drive strategic large-scale delivery over time. By compounding learnings and consistently allocating funding into the landscape vision, RCL aims to promote positive transformation in landscape health, riparian connectivity, community engagement, water quality, and other environmental values across the region.
