This presentation will describe the necessities of embracing partnerships, across many forms, tenures, organisations and cultures to achieve meaningful cultural and natural resource management outcomes at the landscape scale, within an area highly modified by human impact. Examples of interdisciplinary and multi-agency partnerships will highlight the necessity of working collaboratively to deliver meaningful integrated pest management whilst new and exciting avenues for driving investment into regional conservation will highlight the need to think outside the box to tackle complex environmental challenges. What emerges is unlikely synergies between agriculture, first nations groups and threatened species conservation. The priority place concept is brought to life through the lens of a tenure blind, whole of landscape approach to conservation and demonstrates the vital role of regional NRM groups to coordinate, collaborate and refine conservation efforts at a scale required to provide meaningful benefit to threatened species and ecological communities.
