Aggie works as a Senior Biodiversity Officer at Glenelg Hopkins CMA, where she started working in early 2003. Aggie’s focus at the CMA is on one of the national biodiversity hotspots, the Victorian Volcanic Plains (VVP) bioregion, and the listed ecological communities associated with the VVP. The Natural Temperate Grasslands and Grassy Eucalypt Woodlands of the VVP are both listed as Critically Endangered under the EPBC Act, and these are the primary focus for her work.
Along with various programs targeting the grasslands of the VVP, she has had a strong emphasis on restoring the missing components of the grassy woodlands right across the VVP. From working with concerned landholders living on the VVP who have witnessed the decrease in keystone woodland species over decades, Aggie and the CMA were central to the formation of Friends of the Forgotten Woodlands Inc., a group who is addressing this habitat loss.
