The review of the national biosecurity reform agenda was put out mid-cycle through the National Biosecurity Strategy to inform prioritising the NBS Action Plan.

NRM Regions Australia utilised its regional NRM ‘infrastructure’ to comment on the Australian Government’s National Biosecurity Strategy Reform Agenda via a survey. The responses were gathered via a survey to best understand gaps, what is important for the NRM sector, key to achieving early and able to be contributed to by NRMs. In addition, representatives were asked to respond to the provided discussion questions.

The survey results validated the reform agenda as being useful to the core work of regional NRM organisations, with responses highlighting where the greatest needs were to prioritise, with NRM organisations well placed to support coordination and delivery at the scale necessary for the NBS Action Plan Reform Agenda to be achieve.
