Ashley leads the Sustainable Landscapes team at the North East Catchment Management Authority (CMA) which aims to build community capacity and deliver on-ground action to increase the adoption of productive, sustainable and adaptive land management principles. Key project areas include sustainable agriculture and irrigation, climate adaptation, natural capital and carbon management on farms. She works closely with local farming and Landcare groups, agricultural industries and other agencies to support farmers to trial and adopt more sustainable farming practices. Ashley also runs her own beef farming enterprise near Wangaratta, Victoria giving her practical knowledge of the complexities and competing priorities influencing land management.
Ashley has over 15 years experience in agriculture, natural resource management, strategic planning, and community engagement across northern Victoria. She is passionate about agriculture and its potential to mitigate climate change, improve natural resources and increase the resilience of regional communities. Ashley holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of Melbourne.
