Conway, a proud Butchulla man, has a passion for his Country and Culture, and weaving cultural aspects into all of BMRG’s projects. He has a particular interest in fire and how traditional burning techniques can be used to help bring sick country back to health, as well as passing on this knowledge to the next generation.
Conway is also an accomplished artist, finding inspiration from his Country and culture, having won several art prizes throughout the region. His painting ‘Nangarim Buallum’ (Pelican dreaming) features prominently throughout the region as the Dreamtime story of the Great Sandy Strait.
