Jenifer Ticehurst is a social scientist at ABARES, in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
After growing up on a merino property in southern NSW she studied natural resource management at the ANU, and then spent over 15 years researching fields such as natural resource management, conjunctive water use and managed aquifer recharge in the Murray-Darling Basin. Her research often includes integrated assessment and developing decision support tools with stakeholders.
She now works at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES) in the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Her research now has a strong focus on biosecurity, including developing guidelines for general surveillance programs and conducting a national landholder survey about the occurrence and management of pest animals and weeds.
