Sydney leads BMRG’s research efforts, focusing on nature conservation and threatened species across the Burnett-Mary region. She completed her Honours research on freshwater turtles of the Mary River before earning a Ph.D. on threatened Finch species in Darwin.
Sydney is passionate about collaborating with Traditional Owners, stakeholders, and research groups to protect the unique biodiversity of the region. Her work aims to integrate ecological research with practical conservation outcomes, ensuring that the region’s natural heritage thrives for future generations.
