The webinar explores different options for combining funding sources to make nature restoration projects economically viable and to extend their impact. Examples include carbon and biodiversity projects and co-invested biodiversity projects.
In May 2026 NRM Regions Australia ran a webinar to explore how funding sources and environmental project outcomes can be layered to increase the investment available for projects, and to optimise outcomes for for the environment, landholders and communities.
Many environmental market type initiatives, have rules around whether or not multiple sources of investment can be used on one site, or for one project. Conditions may be placed on when certain types of projects, such as carbon projects or biodiversity offset projects must be registered, commenced, or finalised in order to access other sources of public or private funding.
This webinar features different scheme examples and explains the rules that govern these initiatives to provide attendees with an understanding of the opportunities and complexities of drawing on multiple investment streams.
