The webinar explores the financial and legal context for landholders considering carbon farming and other environmental market projects with contractual obligations. The presenters identify the risks associated with such projects and ways to reduce them.
In June 2026 NRM Regions Australia ran a webinar ‘Dollars and Sense – legal and financial considerations for environmental markets projects’ for landholders and their advisors.
Getting independent legal and financial advice is a ‘must-have’ for landholders starting a project – emerging carbon and environmental market opportunities can be complex to navigate and the way projects are set up and managed can have long term implications for farm management.
However. we also know landholders often struggle to find skilled, experienced professionals to discuss their options.
This webinar provides insights into the kinds of things landholders, and anyone working with landholders, should know when they are entering into long term carbon, nature repair or biodiversity offset projects.
Presentations in the webinar are provided by:
* Matt Egerton-Warburton- Partner at Sydney based law firm Mills Oakley
* Paul Della Libera the Head of Natural Capital and Landcare Carbon SMART with Landcare Australia.
* Facilitated by Rachel Clarke, NRM Regions Australia Knowledge Broker for Carbon and Environmental Markets.
This webinar was delivered as part of the NRM Regions Australia Carbon Farming and Environmental Markets Knowledge project. This project was funded by the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) from June 2023-June 2026.
