This plan defines the priority natural capital and agricultural assets in the 5 Rivers region, and identifies the risks to those assets presented by extreme events.

The plan defines management responses for the planning, preparedness, response and recovery phases of such events.

The plans can be used by the 5 Rivers NRM^ and emergency management agencies to ensure that:

  • Risks to assets are minimised as far as possible;
  • Natural capital assets are protected during emergency responses; and
  • Best possible recovery actions are implemented.

^NB – Prior to 2026, 5 Rivers NRM was known as Peel-Harvey Catchment Council.
