Environer is Australia’s independent knowledge hub informing environmental stewardship decisions for primary producers.
On the 9th December 2025, NRM Regions Australia hosted University of New England ‘In the Tent’ to present the new Environer platform.
Environer has been touted as the one-stop shop for landholders seeking to help improve agricultural sustainability. Created by University of New England in collaboration with Agrifutures, Environer is a free, online decision support tool, designed to provide producers with credible, easy-to-access information to make decisions about participation in sustainability projects across the sector, such as access to commodity markets and financial products and outcomes related to carbon emission reduction, sustainability and environmental stewardship.
An overview of Environer’s content and functionality was presented by University of New England’s Dr Rhiannon Smith, Associate Professor in Environmental Management in the School of Environmental and Rural Science and Johan Boshoff, Programme Manager, Computation Analytics Software Informatics (CASI) data analytics group at UNE. Wendy Voss from Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water also contributed to the discussion on how the Nature Repair Market methods are accessible within the Environer platform.
