A description of the Medmerry Coastal Realignment NbS in the UK.
The Medmerry managed coastal realignment is an NbS delivered by the UK’s Environment Agency to address increased coastal flooding events and resulting damages to coastal ecosystems and human infrastructure. The project addressed the flood risk by creating new habitat, restoring landscapes, and shifting physical infrastructure, as demonstrated by resilience in subsequent flood events.
