Samantha Morris is a strategic communication adviser for NRM Regions Queensland and has worked in the regional NRM sector since its inception. Alongside NRMRQ CEO Chris Norman, Sam led the ‘Nurturing Nature: Cultivating Culture’ campaign which resulted in a $117.84 million State investment in Queensland’s regional NRM organisations.
A past Chair of Queensland Conservation Council and Secretary of Landcare Queensland, Sam is an experienced copy writer, project manager and facilitator consulting to regional NRM organisations, conservation groups and state and federal agencies helping them develop programs, improve governance, facilitate strategies, engage communities and communicate their impact.
Sam is also a member of the Recovery Team for the South-eastern Glossy Black-Cockatoo, and spends half her time away from her Gold Coast base training regional and remote communities to write grants, recruit and retain volunteers and communicate with their communities.
Closer to home Sam is an advocate for the arts, launching a successful street press on the Gold Coast and co-founding the Gold Coast Music Awards with the aim of elevating local, original talent.
