Supporting landholders to undertake feral animal control

South West NRM and Leschenault Catchment Council received a Saving Native Species grant from the Australian Government to protect native species living in Wellington National Park and that are under threat of extinction.

The park is home to the chuditch, quokka and western ringtail possum and all of these species are at high risk of extinction from introduced predators like foxes, feral cats and feral pigs.

The project engaged with sixty-one landholders with project activites including training in onground feral animal control, deployment of remote cameras for monitoring to inform strategies for control efforts plus the develoment of a digital and print landhodler booklet.
