NRM Regions Australia and the Carbon Market Institute (CMI) have launched our report ‘Carbon for Nature – leveraging carbon investment to get additional benefits for nature.’
The co-authored report investigated what environmental benefits are being delivered through carbon farming projects and what changes might be needed to optimise the nature outcomes from these investments.
The report was launched through a webinar panel session on 14 February at 11am AEDT. NRM Regions Australia CEO Dr Kate Andrews joined a panel with CMI CEO John Connor, Tanya Pritchard the Manager for Koala Recovery and Landscape Restoration with WWF Australia, and John (Binda) Reid, Chair of Gawler Ranges Aboriginal Corporation.
NRM Regions Australia CEO Dr Kate Andrews, has explained the research.
“Nature outcomes are a key reason regional NRM organisations are involved in carbon farming. To us, biodiversity and landscape health outcomes are the core benefits, but we wanted to explore if that was the case generally – we wanted to find out how carbon farming projects are benefiting nature – and how they might do more,”
