Collaborative Bilby research bags Bush Heritage Australia’s Right-Way Science Award

Combining Indigenous knowledge with scientific methodologies deepens knowledge of bilby populations

Territory NRM ecologist Hayley Geyle and Helen Wilson from the North Tanami Rangers have been awarded the prestigious Bush Heritage Australia Right-Way Science Award!

The award was presented to the team at the annual Ecological Society of Australia (ESA) Conference held in Melbourne in December for their remarkable bilby research. Showcased through a presentation at the conference, their work demonstrated how combining Indigenous knowledge with scientific methodologies has deepened our knowledge of bilby populations.
