Happy Landcare week!

Thanking Landcare groups across Australia for being wonderful partners to regional NRM organisations

We want to thank Landcare groups across Australia for being wonderful partners to regional NRM organisations, and for the absolutely essential work they do to restore and protect our environment.

The following stories provide examples of just a few of the wonderful and diverse collaborations between regional NRM organisations and local Landcare groups across Australia.

Cradle Coast NRM and King Island Landcare have worked with private landholders to exclude livestock and manage feral pests and weeds to protect the habitat of the critically endangered King Island Brown Thornbill and King Island Scrubtit.

Corangamite CMA and Heytesbury District Landcare Network worked together to deliver Small Blocks, Big Dreams workshops and property visits to tailor to the unique needs of small producers, lifestyle/bush block owners, and horse owners.

NRM South, Wheatbelt NRM, Glenelg Hopkins CMA, and Holbrook Landcare Network are working with Sheep Producers Australia on a national Green Sheep project to develop the practical tools and knowledge to respond to the changing climate and meet growing global demand for verified sustainability credentials.

Congratulations to Landcarers across Australia – your grassroots advocacy and on-ground work continues to bring people from all walks of life together to care for nature.

Thanks also to Landcare Australia and the National Landcare Network for your ongoing support for Landcare at the national level.
