The Wheatbelt NRM team spent two days at one of the largest agricultural shows in WA – Wagin Woolorama – speaking with landholders, locals and stakeholders about their Healthy Environments and Sustainable Agriculture projects.
As part of this, Wheatbelt NRM highlighted the national Green Sheep project. The project is being delivered by three regional NRMs and one Landcare group with Wheatbelt NRM delivering the Western Australian component. Led by Sheep Producers Australia, the Green Sheep Project will begin with desktop assessments followed by on-farm demonstrations. The program will help producers understand how their on-farm data aligns with market and processor ESG expectations, strengthen confidence in natural capital reporting tools, and highlight the connections between landscape stewardship and commercial opportunity.
