The uPtake project increased farmers’ confidence to use soil testing for decisions about fertiliser
Fertiliser trials done across two years have enabled farmers to physically see the results of different rates of fertiliser application, with this evidence building their confidence to make decisions to achieve optimal production on their properties. This also results in reduced runoff of excess phosphorus into local catchments, improving water quality and supporting ecosystem health. The project relies on partnerships and learning between farmers, agronomists, fertiliser companies, universities, government, and catchment groups.
