Feral animal control has been a priority for Central Tablelands Local Land Services as they deliver biosecurity information and share pest control advice with the community through a range of events across the region. The biosecurity team maintained a stall at the Rydal Show with an informative display of taxidermy pests, including a feral pig, fox and wild dog, which started conversations about local pest problems and control programs. The local Ag officer was also present to answer questions about livestock and pasture management.
In Orange, the team ran a Small Farms Pest workshop to support landholders on small farms that have fewer control options. The workshop focused on practical tips on baiting and trapping foxes, rabbits and feral pigs.
