Through the NSW government’s Refreshing Rivers project, Riverina LLS with NPWS and Brungle Tumut Local Aboriginal Land Council recently completed the planting of 60 critically endangered Tumut Grevillea (Grevillea wilkinsonii) seedlings along the Goobarragandra River in eastern Riverina. The seeds were collected with Traditional Owners in 2024 and propagated at a community-based Landcare nursery and planted through the NSW government’s Refreshing Rivers program.
To encourage the broader local community, Riverina LLS also held a Rare Plant Propagation Workshop. Led by Dr David Hunter, Senior Threatened Species Officer with DCCEEW NSW, nearly 50 people attended to gain insights into native plant propagation and conservation.
