Funded by the Australian Government, Western Local Land Services (LLS) have commenced a broad range of works to maintain and improve the outstanding universal value of the Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage (WLRWH) property as part of a new 5-year project.
The project will build on earlier, targeted efforts to protect the WLRWH property from threats including invasive species such as wild rabbits and feral pigs, erosion damaging cultural heritage and causing land degradation. The project also aims to increase the leadership skills and participation of Aboriginal people in the protection of cultural heritage and management of threats to the WLRWH property.
